Timothy Mirfin

The English bass, Tim Mirfin, graduated in Law from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he was also a choral scholar. He studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music as a postgraduate scholar, followed by the National Opera Studio. He was principal artist for Welsh National Opera, has performed at festivals and concerts around the country. He has performed in Exeter Cathedral  singing St. Mathew’s Passion , he also sings medieval madrigals and has guested as a soloist with many different choirs. He has a wide and varied concert repertoire, ranging from Baroque oratorios to modern day premiers. He made his recital debut at the Wigmore Hall in 2001.

Tim lives in Exeter, and he will give us a fascinating insight into the world of professional classical singing and how the voice is trained, showing us how the vocal chords change with the notes, anecdotes and maybe even some stage secrets!!
