George Stubbs – The English Leonardo

Stubbs was compared to Leonardo da Vinci, known as the Leonardo of Liverpool. With some justification considering the scientific method and investigation Stubbs put into his epic book “The Anatomy of the Horse”. He became England’s greatest animal painter, especially his equestrian subjects but there was also much more to his work which this talk will bring out.
